Field Notes

When you join Field Notes, your email address and optional first name are submitted to Kit, our newsletter provider. They are used to deliver newsletter emails and manage your subscription. You can unsubscribe using the link in any newsletter email.

Booking a call

Our scheduling link opens Calendly. Information you submit there is handled by Calendly and used to arrange your call.

Discovery attribution

We keep the first referring page and landing path in your browser for this session. These details accompany a speaking inquiry and are passed to Calendly when you open the booking calendar, so we can understand how people find Jeremiah. Your answers about how you found Jeremiah and what you searched for are used with your inquiry.

Website analytics

We use PostHog to understand how visitors use this site and our related sites (Halocline Press, Gardner Expedition Co., and DeadReckon). PostHog sets a cookie and stores a random visitor ID in your browser so we can count returning visits and see which pages lead to a booked call. When you follow a link between these sites, that ID travels in the link so the visit is counted once. We record pages viewed, clicks, and the steps of our forms, not what you type into them. You can block this with your browser's cookie or tracker settings without affecting the site.

Website services

Our hosting service handles requests needed to deliver the website. Embedded videos and external links may load services such as YouTube, Google, and our publishers; their privacy policies apply when you use them. Form requests are checked to limit abuse.
